Unveiling a Historic First for Enfield
Mr. Walker proudly unveiled the first-ever solar-powered Windrush talking bench in Pymmes Park, Enfield. This interactive landmark allows visitors to hear recorded community histories, including spoken-word excerpts voiced by Mr. Walker himself.

The project was made possible after the Rudolph Walker Foundation, Nexus Enfield, Black Heritage Hub, and 2 Sweet Occasions successfully secured funding from the Department of Housing, Communities & Local Government. Together, the collaboration has brought this innovative talking bench and three other memorial benches to Enfield parks.

A Spectacular Community Celebration
Hosted by the brilliant Kat B, the grand opening event drew over 200 attendees. Guests enjoyed music from DJ Mark Anthony and a delicious spread by 2 Sweet Occasions, alongside fantastic performances from:

• Fresh Steps Academy: Two exceptionally talented young dancers.
• Tobago Crusoe: Bringing the vibrant spirit of traditional Calypso music.
• Mike Mendez: Delivering a beautiful vocal performance.

During the festivities, the Mayor of Enfield presented certificates to the local elders who contributed their life stories to the project.

A Surprise 60-Year Milestone
The afternoon took an emotional turn at the end of the show when cast members from EastEnders made a surprise appearance. They presented Mr. Walker with a special trophy commemorating his incredible 60 years in film and television, celebrating his massive contributions to the industry and the community.
